    Using Digital Portfolios to Enhance ELA with STEM++
    Activities in this session are aligned to the Common Core Standards for ELA. This workshop is useful for all content teachers. Many schools are using ePortfolios to provide assessment opportunities. Understand the ePortfolios process to give students the opportunity to showcase their learning. Additionally, learn how to use wikispaces or other wikis in the classroom.
    By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
    ·         Identify quality web 2.0 resources for ELA
    ·         Set up and utilize wikispaces or other wikis in their classroom
    ·         Integrate sound/video into the student ePortfolios.

    February 27 - 4:00 - 6:00 Engaging Students through Problem Solving and Design in STEM++ Science
        Engaging Students through Problem Solving and Design
    This workshop will examine best practices that encourage students to apply mathematical and scientific reasoning when identifying and analyzing problems related to their communities. By participating in problem-based learning activities that focus on higher-order thinking skills, participants understand how to plan and assess engaging STEM activities. Bring your Science Textbook with you!  Activities are aligned to CA Science Standards and CCSS for ELA and Math.
    By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to
    -  Identify the roll that Science has in the CCSS
    - Develop and share model lessons in their grade level that integrate the CCSS and Science Standards that can be implemented in their classrooms

    “Tradigital History”
    This workshop will start by focusing on the uses of digital historical resources and encouraging students to use analysis skills while exploring photographs from throughout history. The session will also show examples of how educators can use audio, video and Web 2.0 tools (including Socrative.com, and twitter.com) to engage students!
    By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
    ·         Identify great visual historical repositories
    ·         Identify powerful digital timelines including free apps
    ·         Use student response/polling
    Evaluate the effectiveness of using social media like Twitter

    May 15 - 4:00 - 6:00 Connecting Generation C with STEM++ in Math
    Connecting Gen C with STEM++ in Math
    This workshop will focus on the integration of technology into the STEM++ classroom. While this workshop will have a focus on Math, we will also look at 21st Century skills in all content areas that enhance the common core. Activities are aligned to CA Science Standards and Common Core Standards for ELA and Math.
    By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
    ·         Gain an understanding of 21st century and digital literacy concepts.
    ·         Learn practical steps for adapting lessons to incorporate digital literacy.
    ·         Identify opportunities to choose, show, and discuss 21st century skills in the classroom
