Common Sense on E-rate and CIPA: Toolkit for School and District Administrators - Oct. 10th

E-rate is complicated. But complying with CIPA's educational requirements doesn't have to be.

Common Sense Media created the CIPA Toolkit to help your district or school address the Internet safety, appropriate online behavior, and cyberbullying topics E-rate recipients need to teach to students. Use it to guide your efforts in the 2012-2013 school year.

Join us for an interactive webinar with Education Program Manager, Merve Lapus of  Common Sense Media

Digital Law - Jan 14th

With their many hand-held devices, students are mobile, wireless and on-the-go. How do you support productive uses of student communication when it is outside of our local area networks? Situations have arisen ranging from cyberbullying to sexting to cheating in schools. Where does your school district stand on the issue of mobile technology use? How can you balance the benefits of mobile technology in learning with the controls needed to provide a safe environment? A legal expert will address these questions and provide guidance on the latest updates to California education code.

Guest presenter will be attorney Jan Tomsky, the managing partner of Fagen, Friedman and Fulfrost's Oakland office.  She has an extensive practice with particular emphasis in special education and student matters, particularly those that involve complex or sensitive issues.
